Info for 1974 Selmer Signet Dreadnought

Hello People,
This is my first post here. I have a number of very good guitars in my arsenal, including a very fine 1991 Martin DC28. My oldest guitar is 36 years old, and of all my guitars, it is still my go to guitar. It is a Selmer Signet full size dread, which I bought new in 1974 for $135. It was hanging on the wall in a music store next to a new Martin D18 that was priced under $300 at the time, but $300 could buy me a good used car, so I opted for the Selmer. The Selmer has a solid spruce top, what appears to be solid rosewood bookmatched back and sides, a mahogany V neck with rosewood fretboard and bridge, MOP block markers, double bound body, neck and head. the headstock has "Signet" in a goldleaf oval applique, and the truss cover is tri-layer black/white plastics with "by Selmer" printer on it. The sticker inside says; Signet model GF402, serial #B050403. Then in very small print "Selmer Division of Magnavox - Made in Japan". Since I own an Ampeg SVT that I bought new in 1977, I have learned that Magnavox owned Ampeg during the 1974 period that they also owned Selmer. Ampeg was making a number of different guitars at the time. My first question is; Could Selmer guitars have been made by Ampeg in Japan, to be marketed by Magnavox? If not, who was making them in Japan? They were very well made. As my guitar as grown old its sound has just opened up and become sweeter and sweeter. Also, what are these Selmer guitars worth these days? I have never seen another one anywhere. Many thanks for any info you can offer.
