Tacoma
Of all the topics there seems to be little discussion of Tacoma guitars here on the AGF.
What do you all think about them? Some people love them, being that they are US made, with sustainable woods and a little unique. They make a little Papoose, which Jon Sholle plays quite often. |
As per the Wikipedia page:

Wow.
I just read all about them on this site, where this retailer raves about them:http://www.edroman.com/guitars/tacoma_for_sale.html That having been said...are they any good? |
I owned a JM9 Tacoma guitar and it was very nice. They made very good guitars and it is sad that they are no more.

I have a Washburn Cheyenne that was made by Tacoma. Fine guitar.

I think that Tacoma's are FANTASTIC guitars, especially for the price. You can pick them up used at very reasonable prices on E-bay, Craigs-List etc.
They did however have hit & miss cosmetic finish lifting issues. If sound is what you are after, they are great and again, not all have the finish issues. I have the Papoose and the C2C rosewood Chief, both with absolutely no finish issues whatsoever. For more info on Tacoma's, I suggest this site. Good people & the founder, Mo, is very generous with his knowledge and history of the brand. www.tacomaguitarforum.com/index.php William |
