McIntyre Feather Reinstallation?

Hi folks,

I have three McIntyre Feathers in three acoustic guitars (Lowden O10, Fylde Magician, Yamaha Fg800) and like them alot in conjunction with an internal or external mic.

However, after a year of it being installed I am increasingly suspecting that the one installed in my Fylde Magician could do with moving. I am having to make a deep cut due to body resonanace which seems to swallow the top end and any openness. Even with the cut it is still somewhat muffled. When I swap to the Lowden mid set it is quite noticeable.

I checked it with a mirror versus the other two installations on my Yamaha and Lowden and it seems to be a touch further forward from the string pegs on the Flyde. I have no idea whether it would help moving it towards the bridge a little or not however.

If anyone has any experience of placement that might be applicable I would be very grateful.

Also has anyone had any success moving / reinstalling these after such a long time. I'm guessing the adhesive will be done so I will need to find a way of re-adhering the feather. Are there any adhesives that anyone could recommend that won't dampen the response or damage the pickup?

It strikes me that superglue is going to be overkill and also make it difficult to remove the pickup if the need every arises.

Any advice greatly appreciated!
