TRADED!! 2014 Northwood 00 12 Fret Short Scale DB - Now $1,800

This is simply an outstanding and natural sounding 00. Not boxy like many 00 bodies can be. Surprisingly loud as well flat picked. Although it cannot be driven too hard. Obviously this is primarily a finger style instrument.

The workmanship by John McQuarrie is second to none. I can find absolutely no flaws. She is in near mint 9.5/10 condition with little fret wear. No end pin. Comes with original HS case. Kept in humidity controlled environment and non smoking household. You can still smell the Spanish cedar kerfing.

Northwood 00 75 custom:
12 frets to body
Short scale, (24.9)
Deep body, 4-7/8" @ tailblock
1.75" at the nut, 2.25" at the saddle
EIR gloss back and sides
Engelmann gloss top
One piece satin mahogany neck
Full Koa binding on the body, neck and heel wedge
Koa headstock overlay
Ebony fret board with microdot inlay
Ebony pyramid bridge
Grover Stay Tight tuners
Abalone rosette
Polished bone nut and saddle
Original clear pick guard

Lowest price this guitar will be is $1,800 + shipping + PayPal
A steal for a guitar twice this new, and it nearly is.

Follow this link to a couple of sound clips from a similar Northwood from Paramount. The tone is a dead ringer to what I'm selling.

Testimonial

The finest small body I ever played was a Northwood 00. Exceptional guitar.

nwapoolguy 07-25-2017 07:29 AM

Thank you Rick and yes it is. However, I fell in love with the Breedlove 000/AR slot head I just got. Otherwise I would be keeping this one. :)

Hump day bump!

jab.phila 07-26-2017 09:52 AM

Northwood cheering section over here. I own a cocobolo 000 and am only tempted to find another Northwood, never to give mine up. GLWS!

nwapoolguy 07-26-2017 10:28 AM

Same here! I think John McQuarrie is one of the best builders out there. That being said, I just got a Breedlove 000/AR built by Jayson Bowerman that has blown me away. Hence, the Northwood 00 is now for sale although I'd love to hang on to it. :)

nwapoolguy 07-27-2017 12:14 PM

Some interest but to the top!

Movin' on up

nwapoolguy 07-31-2017 08:04 AM

Monday morning bump. Got a few kicking the tires but nothing solid yet. :)

nwapoolguy 08-01-2017 07:49 AM

Keep in mind this would be near $4K commissioned new. It's about as close to new as you can get. Even has that new guitar smell. :)

nwapoolguy 08-02-2017 04:42 PM

To the top!

Northwood

John is putting the finishing touches on my Northwood D and it will be delivered in a few weeks.

Your 00 deep body 12 fret is one of the three insane prices for guitars currently on the AGF. Northwood are high end instruments and John McQuarrie is a super builder to work with.

Someone should grab this deal before you come to your senses and keep it.

Preaching to the Northwood choir Daniel! I have decided to commission a build with all the things I love about northwood, Webber, Tim Reede, breedlove, etc. So this one must go to raise funds. I'll still have my Northwood R80 MJ. That one won't be going anywhere. This one though is less than half of a new build and it more or less is one.

nwapoolguy 08-04-2017 09:38 AM

This is a cannon for a 00 size guitar!

nwapoolguy 08-06-2017 07:41 AM

All the way up!

nwapoolguy 08-08-2017 06:58 AM

Back up to the top. Folks are looking for 12 frets and short scale. This is likely one of the best you will find.

nwapoolguy 08-09-2017 04:56 PM

Hump day bump

nwapoolguy 08-11-2017 09:03 PM

Got this out and played it. I questioned why I'm selling it. May put my Northwood MJ up instead.

nwapoolguy 08-13-2017 09:34 AM

If today's not the day I might see what happens with the Northwood MJ R80

ScottTL 08-13-2017 11:10 AM

No affiliation with the seller but as a previous owner of this amazing deep body 00, I can't say enough good things about it. Great feeling neck, the ss makes it easy on the hand and deep body gives it a much bigger sound than a typical 00 body.

John's builds are the cleanest out there and he uses Spanish cedar for the kerfing so it's also a treat for the nose!
Good luck with the sale- at your price it's a steal!

l8tstartr 08-13-2017 12:06 PM

Could you tell me what the overall length is?

nwapoolguy 08-13-2017 12:23 PM

Northwood website says 39.5". I'll verify that though.

And thanks ScottTL for the kind words!

Warren 08-13-2017 02:33 PM

Couple of questions. What is the depth at the neck block and does it come with a Hiscox case?

Thanks for your time!

nwapoolguy 08-13-2017 06:37 PM

The depth at the headblock is 3-3/4". I don't believe this is a Hiscox case. It's an arc top with red lining. The tag on the inner compartment says "made in Canada". No othe tags or markings on the case. It does however have a truss rod adjustment tool.

Warren 08-13-2017 10:13 PM

Thank you.

nwapoolguy 08-16-2017 07:52 AM

Back on up to the top!

nwapoolguy 08-18-2017 08:59 AM

Back to the top! This instrument is VERY sweet. You will not be disappointed.

JAMKC 08-18-2017 12:43 PM

Just an idea?

I know that this probably isn't what you were planning but any interest in my 00-DB Jeff Tweedy in a trade? If the Tweedy isn't your thing it might be easier to sell? Just checking!
Jeff
