Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special

Anyone on the forum own this guitar?
Just bought it and I think its a great sounding guitar, but I am kind of confused as to the direction the bridge sits, adjustment screws towards the pups?

This looks like a New Guitar Day thread, but I'm not seeing any pics....

Just sayin'. ;)

Not familiar with this model. Have to look it up.

Here is the newest addition to the stable.

I want one of those real bad but blew all my money on acoustic guitars so I just have to live with the electric I have for now. How do you like it? Does it stay in tune with the trem?

rrgguitarman 08-13-2014 06:43 PM

I'm really enjoying this guitar and yes the tremolo stays in tune just fine once the strings settle in.

It really doesn't matter on this bridge. It is probably installed that way to ease adjustment. If the saddles are the correct ones for the appropriate strings, it should be fine. -- Darwin

Nice! It looks good with the burst, too.

The pictures shows it with the bridge turn around by me when I changed the strings. I called Fender and I was told that the bridge was put in with the adjustment screws pointing towards the pickup for ease of adjusting? It seems easier the way I have it now, but who knows, its all good.
The people at Fender have always been very helpful. I also asked them about the controls that are on the guitar and they quickly sent me a pdf file that shows what the controls do...very cool.

I was originally going for the red, but I'm glad that I went with the burst.

The short scale makes it really easy to do some of the stuff that Chuck Berry does so effortlessly.

Congratulations on obtaining a new guitar. I like the looks.

Dru Edwards 08-15-2014 03:48 PM

Hey Ruben, Congrats! Glad to hear you're enjoying the 24" short scale. Was that one of the reasons you bought it?

terrapin 08-15-2014 03:55 PM

You probably know this, but although the bridge can go both ways if you reverse the bridge from the way the guitar was set-up your intonation is going to be way off. Nice guitar!

Yes, but for sure not the only one, I own 3 other short scale electrics.

It was so I re-set the intonation and adjusted the bridge height, right on the money on the 12th. Thanks.

A little off subject, but on your avitar, is that Captain Beyond?

The Jag is a nice pickup for you, Congrats!
