It would make an even better Christmas gift.

Merry Christmas Bruce.. and everyone else.

If I can actually close this L00 today, I will get to Bob's J185 tomorrow; Boxing Day plus one.

I glued in the label this morning and glued the back onto the sides, closing the box on the BRW L00.

Now I can get going on Bob's J185 inspired SJ! I hope to sand back the final varnish coat with 2000 grit wet and then buff out the body and the neck. If I am not offered too many distractions, I may even join the two pieces today.

I usually get to excited about this, one of my favorite moments, to remember to take a before picture. After I take of the clamping caul I use to put the back on, the change the laminate trim router makes in a few seconds continues to entertain me.

I have 2000nd the top and the back of Bob's guitar, but not the sides, yet. My bass player is showing up in a few minutes for a rehearsal that will distract me for a couple of hours. . . not a bummer.

So far, so good . . . at the very least, John.

No question it is THE good wood.

Well, I think this will be my last post in this 2017 thread. Maybe not. Who really knows the future? But I do plan to start a new thread which I will call, “Sexauer ‘18”. Or something very like that.

Today I made a couple of recordings of the J185 inspired guitar I made for Bob Berger. It was completed about 3 days ago, and is bound to get better, as it has improved more than I am used to over the last few days. The tune is called “Rythme”. I found it in the Portland Collection, and never have played it before today. Here are two versions recorded in GarageBand on my desktop computer:

Rythme slower

Rythme faster

Records quite well, fun little tune.
