Takamine Neck Width at Nut

Any one know the nut width on Takamine guitars? All their website lists is Medium width. I am interested in the EAN40C but I looking for something with a 1 3/4" neck width at the nut.

Thanks,

Rich D

Based on an older (2006) TAK spec catelog, the Takamine Nashville series have a 1 3/4" nut size. In looking at their website, the models appear to still match up to the specs for 2006. The corresponding body size (to the EAN40C) in this series is the TNV460SC however, it will have a bear claw spruce top with solid Indian rosewood backs/sides rather than the solid cedar top and mahogany back with laminated mahogany sides of the EAN 40C. The Nashville series is more expensive but, you will be a bit more bling along with the CoolTube preamp. Hope this helps.

Tak Neck Specs

Thanks Tom,

I emailed Takamine yesterday. The tech sent me a reply in about an hour. He attached a listing of all the neck sepcs. Bascially, only the OM body guitars have a 1 3/4 " neck width. The EAN40C is not one of them. I really like the Cedar and Mahogany. I may have to spring for the Taylor GSMC.

Cedar/mahogany is a great combination and Taylor builds some really nice guitars.

My TF340S BG Tak Dread has a nut width of 1 3/4, if that's any help.

One interesting thing. Although the neck is 1 3/4 in. wide, the string spacing at the nut is the same a my Martin dread with an 1 11/16 advertised nut width. So, measures like a 1 3/4, plays like a 1 11/16. Either way, it's a nice guitar. :-)
