Love it, Bob! Of course, we need to hear it, and know everything about how this feat was achieved!

You'll have to ask the guys at Audio Animals in London! I just borrowed their graphic.

I'll take a stab it from a very general logistics of DAW mixing standpoint an how I would do it .
I looks to have been made in Pro Tools where can you select different track colors and have the clips (showing sound waves match the track color)
I do not know what the sound is but the tree shape is an even fade in level of an audio track ( either natural or automated ) the stand and star are simply two more wave form clips from two other tracks of different colors -red and yellow, which have been cut and then pasted or dragged into place on the green track.
I agree it would be fun to hear it though, but just imagine it is a great acoustic guitar hammer on, on the low E for the stand.... then a 4 string/chord strum, for the tree...... and nice clean pull off on the high E, for the star. Of last three the ending notes of "little Drummer Boy" how's that sound ?

Being realistic, it looks more like someone using his mouth to imitate flatulence with a fadeout. http://www.in2guitar.com/images2/madsmile.gif

Now if we compress the heck out of it, the track will begin to look less like a Christmas tree and more like a rough-edged Doric column, right?
