First Build Martin

Hey everyone I'm new to the site but I'm already enjoying it. I'm sure that somewhere on here there is a similar thread but I haven't seen it. I apologize if I'm repeating a question already asked!

Anyway, I'm looking to do my first build. I want as close to a Martin OMJM body size as I can get using a Martin kit. Martin offers both an OM and a OOO kit and I'm not super familiar with the differences. I do know that the body size of an OMJM is...OOO.

Any suggestions or comments would be helpful. If you've ever built either one of these models and liked them or not etc.

Thank you!

Tony

I think the biggest difference is the 000 has a 24.9' scale length and the OM has a 25.4" scale length, body size is the same.

So I just ordered my first kit and I went with the Rosewood OM. Is there a certain type or brand of glue anyone recommends? They sell one called Franklin Titebond Wood Glue on the Martin website so this is what i was going to order.

Thanks,

Franklin TiteBond is a good choice. Make sure it's the original version, not the type II or III. The one you want has a lot of red on the label.

Have fun!

if you are interested, here is how to check the expiration date of Titebond Original:

a big box store is going to have a faster turnover then a small m&p shop -thus you will hopefully get fresher glue.

good luck!

Why not type II or III?
