Look forward to seeing this one come together. I really like Laurent's guitars.
That jig for gluing the binding onto the fretboard is bloody brilliant! |
Too many guitars
Not enough time Or money |
Is that a cocobolo fretboard?
|

Nice spec. I've liked the Brondels you've had in so far. I like the Sobell-esque arching of the tops. I'm not sure if Laurent has been consciously influenced by Stefan, but there seem to be some elements of similarity. Having said that, they're far from being Sobell clones. |
Those are some really fun specs! Was the coco bridge and fretboard an aesthetic choice or is there a sound he's attempting to zero in on?

I've asked Laurent to join in so maybe he will answer that.

Ripping off a quote from Howard Klepper, "Brondel = good".

That being said I build at the opposite spectrum, deep in the American tradition, and light. |

I can see exactly what you mean about your builds. I've played some of the ones that Trevor has had in - superb! I'm looking forward to seeing and playing this one at some point. |
