New Guitar Seat Day.

A shout out for JR, who is happily and quickly sending me a Soundseat today. I may also be able to get one authorized for my office, courtesy of ergonomics and the Environmental Health and Safety rep.

JR was a joy to work with, easy to talk to, and called/was available at what I would have considered to be after hours for him (different timezones). Have no fear for spending what you'll spend on a chair. It still costs less than an Aeron and it looks to be be better designed for certain specific conditions.

Happy happy joy joy!

Let me jump in here to also say thank you to JR... I recently bought the guitar seat with mid-back and footrest, and it is a high quality chair.

He responded to my website order within an hour, and shipped it out the next day. Even helped me select the right gas-lift height based on my size and need for correct posture due to my bad right shoulder.

Soundseats are great! So much better than playing on the couch or a kitchen stool.

Wow, they move fast. Thanks JR!

I got my job's Environmental Health and Safety person to approve one for work by explaining the perceived cost benefit analysis over purchasing something like an Herman Miller "Aeron" or some other funky chair with a huge learning curve. He read the site for a few minutes, looked at the price list, and said "what do you do want?"

So, Ill have one at home for me, and one at work, freeing my brain of the distraction of messing with my seat along with my computer and programming.

FYI for those of you that are employed, still, and have companies that are aggressively ergonomic or that value employee health. I should note (and JR does, too on his website) that this is not a cure for back issues, but its a darn good step in the right direction. It did not take a lot of convincing of the EHS guy once I showed him the site for him to approve the purchase.

SS arrived today. It is everything I wanted. Simple (no sliding seat, moving back, raising/lowering, tilt control, etc), just up, down, armrests, and seatback.

The leather is a great texture, and the stitching is wonderful. Ive had leather jackets made for me that didn't have stitching this good. The plastic base by itself before adding sliders weighs a few lbs by itself. This is one awesome seat. I can't wait to get mine set up at work when it arrives so I can tell people about it.

Thanks, JR!

Here is the lever to adjust the arms in and out, or remove:

Here's the body, in burgandy. You can't really see the arm-rests, but they are cupped, not rounded or flat. NICE>

Here is the seat stitching.

I got the one with the reinforced seatback bar:
