New free app for putting photos into DAW (like hardware settings)

This is kind of cool app for making a photo open like the GUI on a plug in right in your plugin inserts slot . Works for all major DAWs in AU, Vst, and AXX plugin formats currently for mac only but windows soon

It's called "Snapshot" by Non-Lethal Applications being offered for free by the Pro Tools Expert blog http://www.pro-tools-expert.com/home-page/2017/10/12/ingenious-new-free-plug-in-snapshot-store-images-of-hardware-settings-in-your-daw

It is really handy for any that might have outboard hardware units or even for the gain settings on an interface
It allows you put in a session and even track specific settings info from a photo that pops open just like any other plug in

For example I took an iphone photo of my IGS Tubecore compressor setting for the session I am working on now in PT. Sent it to my computer, then inserted the 'Snapshot" plugin on my 2 Bus track where the 3 U is inserted and this is what it looks like when I click on that insert button

I guess not very many people here use outboard processors ?

I mix ITB, but everything gets in there through hardware. Handy to have, say, preamp and compressor settings parked with the bass track if I'm going in and fixing something a week later. Thanks!

Because it is a plugin insert there can be specific different instances on different tracks.
There are a few steps involved but still faster (for me) than entering info, into the comments box in PT. You obviously have to download and install the plugin, then I also got the free Wifi Photo Transfer app for my iPhone, so I could wifi photos to my studio computer desktop (both have to be connected to the same wifi network) Then it is matter of inserting the Snapshot plug in on the track click it and choose the image. Then the image pops open any time you click the insert button (as you can see in the screenshot above there is also an additional text box ,'Notes" for any info not in the photo) pretty slick, me thinks.

There are many DAW's that do not have the the vocal FX it has .

I am considering a SPDIF FX unit to go into my Focusrite Scarlett 6i6's SPDIF in/out's before the computer .

My Roland GR33 guitar synth module's FX engine is killer , I use it's FX because they are really good and extensive .

I guess I should have clarified my post better . Something like : I guess not that many are using outboard analog hardware as inserts in their DAW, or analog outboard front ends going into the DAW like Brent mentioned.
Since most digital FX units also have the ability to store and recall presets and user defined parameters and don't usually have the physical parameter knobs, that might change for each individual instrument and session recorded, there would not be as much reason to take a photo of digital units per se . Although I suppose if you use a bunch of different presets or user patches a photo of the LCD might be handy to remember which one . And a photo of the mic pre gain settings on a typical interface might be handy also if you change those setting a lot.

Seems like it...but even so, I'd imagine people would want this for remembering preamp settings.
