Lower Priced Guitars w/ Wide Nut Width

I've been learning guitar on both a classical and a Seagull and I prefer the wider spacing of the strings. When I pick up a lot of guitars with the 1 11/16" nut spacing, it feels so cramped. What other lower priced steel strings besides Seagull are available with the wider nut width? I've liked the tone of the lower priced Taylors and Martins I've tried, but it seems I have to spend $1000+ just to get the models with the wider nut width. All their lower priced models seem to have the narrower string spacing.

Ibanez Artwoods may be an option:

Just depends on how wide a nut, and how low a $.

My Recording King ROS-06 has a 1 13/16 nut and can be purchased for less than $260.....to me that's about the "widest" and the "lowe$t" you will find (particularly for a great playing and great sounding little 000)

Check out this Wechter, great guitar, low price, and includes a hard case. I just put mine away after practicing.

I second this post. Love mine put in a sound port and JJB pickups. Sounds really sweet.

I use a Silver Creek T-160 as a beater. 1 3/4 and with coupons etc. got it for under 200 shipped.

Not sure if this qualifies as lower priced but its not $1000...

There's a rosewood model for just a bit more. I have the dread version... with the cramped fingerboard and I love it. ;)

The Yamaha LS6 retails for $500 and has a 1 3/4, bound neck, very classy and comfortable guitar.

There is a Mitchell MO 100 S-VS with 1 3/4 nut for $189 at GC.

all the A series blueridge dreads and 000's have a 1 3/4" nut, and the blueridge parlors have a very nice 1 7/8" nut. i believe the cort L900P parlor has a 1 3/4" nut, and i know the recording king 000's have at least a 1 3/4" nut.

I had a Guild GAD 30R that had 1 3/4", really nice guitar, solid rosewood and spruce, the GAD 30 was mahogany, if you want to go used you can find them for under 500 including HSC (local shop has a 30R with hsc for $350). They've been replaced with the Guild F-130 and F-130r...all have 1 3/4, solid woods, and come in between 650-800 inc HSC . There are plenty of options out there, beside nut width, decide on woods, body size, budget, then have fun finding and playing the one just right for you. (I sold my 30r when I got my voyage air which also has 1 3/4" nut.)

They are decent guitars. I got one to play while I'm deployed and it's not bad at all. I think I paid 648.00 shipped. I think it was a great deal. My roommate wants to order one after playing mine. It came with a really nice case.

+1 on the Recording Kings
Also look for a used Seagull S6. They routinely sell for <$300.

I believe the lower priced Eastman models have a 1.75 inch nut. I saw one at Music & Arts for under $400 the other day. Here is the link to their most basic model which is $495 msrp and has the 1,75 nut according to the spec sheet. http://www.eastmanguitars.com/ac120/

I was really close to buying one of these. They look cool and some vid reviews make them sound great (maybe MLoy can report).
I ended up with an Eastman OM AC312 because I could actually play in a local shop (the Wechter was not available any where near here). The Eastman AC312 can still be had and for often near $500. 1.75"
nut, and lots of good stuff.
