EQ setting for a T5 using an EQ3B

Looking at purchasing a used T5-S1. Want to use it often in acoustic mode - and think I will probably need to do some EQing to make it sound good. I will be running it direct fo the FOH board and using my 15" 2-way monitor for my ears.

I own a Presonus EQ3B.

Joe F. or anyone else out there have a clue where I should start with my settings?

Hi Paul,

I was surprised to see that you hadn't got any replies. I play my T5 into a Boss GT-Pro. I think this is a great piece of rack gear (not cheap but lots of good stuff). I use it for all my guitars (acoustic and electric) and then use a Bose PAS for amplification. I have a couple of patches that I use for the T5 depending on whether I'm trying to get a good acoustic or electric sound.

I'll see if I can get the EQ settings tonight and let you know.

Hi Paul,

Here are a couple of screenshots of the EQ settings I use with my T5. The first is when I use position 1 or 2 for acoustic sounds. The second is when I use position 4 or 5 for clean electric sounds.

There isn't much difference between the two, just cut the mids a bit more with the electric sounds. With no EQ I found the bass was too loud so I needed to drop that end quite a bit. I also rolled off some of the highs as it was a bit too bright. Then I followed the curves that Eltjo (Picker2) published here a while ago with a broad drop in the mids with a narrow lift around 1 kHz to brighten it up a bit.

Hope this helps. Don't forget this is works for my setup and you will have to listen to your own to get the best settings for your system.
