Finished reading Stephen King's 11/22/63 (JFK)

Anyone read Stephen King's 11/22/63? It's a story about a guy who goes back in time to try and stop Oswald from shooting JFK. I won't give any spoilers but it's a great book. Just finished it today. It's fiction but there are some historical facts in it.

Any King fans here?

I'm not a huge Stephen King fan, but I read that one a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it.

Though I would not call myself a huge fan of Stephen King, I am definitely a fan. Also, I think The Stand is one of the 10 or 15 best novels I have ever read.

I'll have to check-out 11/22/63.

I read that book when it came out several years ago and thought it was an interesting read. I liked it.

Not a big fan of King. His scenarios have gotten to a point where its like Stephen King is trying to rip off Stephen King.

One recent exception was the series "Mr. Mercedes" that was on Audience Network. More suspense, no crazy scenarios, and more real characters.

Daughter read it this Fall and *loved* it. Raved about it!

I read the The Stand back in the late '80s. It's one of King's best. I read it after I read It, which is one of my all time favorites.

I haven't read the reissued The Stand from a few years ago - I think there's a couple of hundred more pages?

There is a twilight zone marathon going on. Just finished watching an episode about a man in (1961) who went back in time and tried to stop the Lincoln assassination. Looks like Stephen likes his old tv shows!!!:D

The original Stand was shortened dramatically from the manuscript because the publisher didn't think a huge book would sell.

The reissue was the actual book King wrote. By then he had enough clout to get it published as intended.

I loved that book when I read it--finished it in a day. All 763 pages of it or whatever.

11/22/63 was a great read. Read it twice, in fact. Such an interesting premise to think how things would be different of one could go back and prevent the JFK assassination. Hulu made a miniseries out it too, but I had the feeling they made a lot of changes from the book when I saw it. Didn't care for it much. But the book is really good.

Yes, I thought it was Stephen King's best in years and I also enjoyed to Hulu show. Nice touch having ''Christine'' make a cameo in 11/22/63.

I read the edited version of the Stand (852 pages) I was 20 and distracted, it took 6 months to get through it. At 25 I reread it as Steven King wrote it at 1,152 pages. I was through it in ? three days?
I read a lot but mostly non fiction, when I reach for a scare me book I love his work. I have pondered the JFK book but I am deep in Teddy Roosevelt stuff right now.

I was on a plane Monday and the entertainment system for my seat had the tv show 11/22/63. I watched the first two episodes, not bad. Different from the book too, as you'd expect.

Anyone watch the series?

Yea, great book. Read it a year or so ago. A book that makes you lie in bed and think about what you do. Fun.

Thanks will pick it up, been curious for years when I've seen it. Some of Kings stuff I like real well, some I could do without.
