Just finished four new ukuleles - two baritone, two concert
Here are some photos of these ukes before they're sent to their new homes: two cherry baritones, and one mahogany & one koa concert.
I'm looking forward to having the mahogany concert to play around the shop, and the other three are ready to ship. More photos & detailed specs at Dart Instruments blog. Video coming soon! Hi David,
I am just now building a side bender for ukes. Yours look really nice. Last time we communicated I believe you were concentrating on lutes, and last time I saw you perform I believe it was with Ron Bogue...at Claremont High :D Never seen or heard of Ron since, but sometimes get news of Scott Sanders, the Millards, and other folkie Claremunchkins. I started repairing in 1963, but got the building bug while working for Charles at FMC. See post #5 : http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...13#post5161113 |
These are beautiful ukes! I had the privilege of visiting Dave's workshop last May and playing a cherry short-scale guitar that was magical (fortunately for my wife it wasn't for sale!) Actually, each instrument Dave had in the shop had its own distinct character...all fantastic. I hope to get back there sometime this year. Would love to hear the cherry baritone.
