Reverb suggestions
 

Hi everyone,
having seen the thread on effects pedals, got me a thinking.
I would love some reverb to put in line.
Guitar - DI - PA
What are your experiences and where in the chain would it go.
I have always been a plug in and go kind of player. Several of my guitar buddies are always twiddling knobs etc but not me, I prefer to just play it.
Having said that, I am setting up to do Acoustic Duo and some(just a little bit) of reverb would be very nice.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

If it is your PA... I would suggest using the aux send and return on your mixer.

For me it depends. I play P&W plus mainly dinner cover shows solo acoustic at other venues.

For both my 6 string guitars I use a Boss RV3 pedal with just a pinch of reverb and delay in the effects loop of the Redeye preamp, basically set and forget, either on or off. This then goes to one channel of the mixer with an Aphex Compellor as the insert and thats it. All this is on my pedal board pictured recently.

For my 12 String, mandolin, and electric I prefer to add reverb etc. as was just suggested in the Aux send/return on the mixer. This gives me greater control over the lushness of the sound. The compression/eq for these instruments are also added as an insert. I control the FX unit channels via a midi Mouse on my board.

I use a TC Electronics Hall of Fame Reverb pedal for everything electric and acoustic. It can cover most bases for you, plus it has "Tone Print" where you can upload new reverb settings via your Iphone or USB.

If your PA (or house PA) does not have an FX loop/insert funciton, put the reverb between guitar and DI. Keep it low, too much reverb on a strummed acoustic can sound horrible.

Yes indeed guys will be my PA, it does have fx send/return as well as inserts on each channel and main out inserts.
Will be putting dual 31 band graphic on main out inserts.
I hadnt thought of that, ie directly into pa. Thanks a lot guys.:)
