My 1935 Rickenbacker!
Yea! Just got this pickup back from Seymour Duncan. Seymour himself repaired it for me and now this 70 year old pickup and guitar sound better than ever. These 1 1/2" Horseshoe Pickups are loud! These 1935 models are the best lap steels ever made, IMO, and mine's just like the one David Lindley used on Jackson Browne's Running On Empty.
Not many have had a chance to see these pickups outside of a guitar so I'd thought I'd share these photos with you: http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/..._2523-Copy.jpghttp://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/..._2522-Copy.jpghttp://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/..._2525-Copy.jpg |

Thanks guys! I just got it up and running again and it does sound great - a really strong fat twang. These guitars are made out of bakelite - same material as black bowling bowls were made from. The chrome (or nickel?) covers cover-up hollowed out areas of the bakelite body, hollowed out to bring down the weight some. I love these guitars - never been great at lap steel but it's fun to try!

What a great looking guitar (and pickup)!
