nut width comparision chart inch/ mm?

does someone know ( or might be willing to put together) about a chart that states the trad nut sizes from really narrow up to really wide, in inch and its matching mm?
it would come in very handy for me to have a look as not a lot of sites do tell the mm (I am dutch, thats why, and I would like a change from my 1 11/16)
thanks!! :)

mm = inch x 25.4

The table is listed as "code" to allow formatting

Code:

Inch                    mm                mm
                                  (high precision)
2                      50.8                50.80
1 15/16                      49.2                49.21
1 7/8                        47.6                47.63
1 13/16                      46.0                46.04
1 3/4                        44.5                44.45
1 11/16                      42.9                42.86
1 5/8                        41.3                41.28
1 9/16                        39.7                39.69
1 1/2                        38.1                38.10

there is 1 23/32 too, which is 43.65mm. I've seen Bourgeois guitars with this nut width, not sure if there is any other company which uses it too.

fabulous! Thanks a lot, this is of much help so now I know what guidelines to use....will keep that handy!

To convert any factional number to its metric equivalent;
first change the fraction to a decimal (23/32 = divide 23 by 32 = .72)
then multiply by the conversion (1 inch = 2.54 cm or 1 inch = 25.4 mm)

1 1/2" = 1.5" X 25.4 = 38.1 mm
1 23/32" =1 (23 ÷ 32 = .72) = 1.72" X 25.4 = 43.69 mm

Mike Baranik uses 1 25/32" (45.24mm), which is spot on comfortable for me.

Of course the conversions can get a little messy when going back and forth from certain listed figures.

For example, if a builder lists his/her standard nut width as 45mm (not at all unusual, by the way), this would convert in inches to something like 1 99/128. (And even that is not an exact conversion.)

So sometimes it's better in doing these conversions to forgo ultimate precision, and just settle for something in the nearest ballpark.

Remember that string spacing at the nut is as important (if not more) and that there is no standard.
