Buying a new Acoustic Electric

Hello people! I'm planning to buy a Acoustic-Electric this christmas and I've narrowed it down to Cort L100F. Does anyone have experience with this guitar?

Well I've got two other choices in the same very budget..
* SFX1 - http://www.cortguitars.com/_webapp_3846730/SFX1F or the

* AEG8E - http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/ag_...&series_id=414

.. please help me choose from the above three.. you suggestions are most welcome :)
12K($250) is a big investment for me considering that I'd be paying for it(worked hard for 4mnths at a call center.God!! ) and I'd want it to last long.

Hey Blues. Wish I could offer some advice on the guitars you mentioned, but I haven't played any of them. However, I think you may be asking too much for a decent A/E guitar at $250. Based on my experience with guitars that cost a couple of hundred more, one side or the other will suffer. I'd suggest finding an acoustic guitar that you like & adding a pickup later.

If you're buying your primary guitar, you should really head out to a shop and play a bunch of them in your price range. Good luck and welcome to the AGF.

Agree. at that price I would search for a decent used guitar and add a pickup later.

Since you mention Cort, I have just recently tried the Cort Earth100F although this is probably about $50-$60 above your budget but this dreadnought baby sounds pretty darn good unplugged! I was looking for a small amp and I used this guitar to plug into several small sized amps and it sounded nice especially through the ZT Lunchbox and I bought that amp eventually.

One of my first guitars was a Cort guitar. It was s a decent guitar given its value. I've tried an Earth 100 NS(same thing as Earth100F except sans pickup and gloss) and I'd say it's the same, decent for its price. Knowing what I know now, if I were in your shoes, I would save up a bit more to buy a top-solid guitar.

Cort guitars are good quality, well made instruments. For the $250 price its a great deal.

Obviously every guitar has its own sound and "feel" and you should try out a guitar before you buy.

thanks for the replies people..
I've tried all three guitars and to be frank I seriously can't get the difference.. They're slim, comfortable and sound really good to me, both unplugged as well as amplified(I've been playin for just 3 yrs so cant really get the tone difference)
Some say go for Cort 'cuz they're solid tops and have fishman electronics while others say Ibanez..

Check out the Yamaha FGX700SC

It has a solid top, decent electronics and the tone is exceptional at it's price point.

Yamaha definitely has more "bang for your buck" than most guitars in this price range.
