Classical Guitar Magazine notified me I won a guitar
Classical Guitar Magazine with Jose Ramirez Guitars notified me last week that I had won the Jose Ramirez RA-C guitar that they were giving away. It's the first time ever that I've won something by entering an online drawing.
According to the notification, they have 60 days after the paperwork is turned in to send the guitar, but they were sent the paperwork today, and I was told it should ship very soon. Such an exciting thing for me. My current, only classical, is an '85 Yamaha G-255 Sii, which is not an expensive model. I love the sound, but can't wait to listen to this new one. The funny thing was that I had just returned from a visit with Lucio Nunez in San Antonio and asked him to build me a Cedar/Cocobolo classical guitar. So sometime in the next couple of months I'll be loaded up with classical guitars. Walking on Cloud 9. Does anyone have this model guitar and would give me their opinion? I'd be very appreciative. Thanks, Bob |
WOW that's great news!!! If your going to win for the first time you picked the right contest - very cool :D
|
Congratulations! I know nothing about that guitar, but the price is very right!
|
Congratulations. But I wonder what the tax bill will be on the winnings
|
Congrats, Bob! Remember, one can never have too many guitars...hahahaaa! :guitar:

Wow!!! Awesome!!! That's sweet!
Post pics when you get it.. what a treat and nice early Christmas present :) |
Dang... I entered to win that one too. :(
But congrats to you OP. Enjoy! :) Btw... I've been entering online contests like this for many years... as well as mail-in magazine contests before the internet was a thing. Never won a thing. You are fortunate! Back in the early 90s I was in my 20s and there was this tricked-out White Brothers motocross bike that Dirt Bike Magazine was giving away. I could mail in as many entries as I wanted. So I spent like $75 in stamps and mailed in hundreds of entries. I even took a stack of them to mail while my ex-wife and I were at a week-long work conference in Vegas. Over the years I've gotten more realistic about that stuff and realize that it's mostly just a means for the sponsors to fill your mailbox/Inbox with junk mail. So I rarely enter them any more. I entered the one that you won just on a whim. But I'm glad that at least SOMEBODY won one of these contests... because sometimes it starts to feel like no one does. |
Yesterday, after an interminable (to me) wait, the guitar arrived. I could not be happier. It sounds great, looks great, feels nice in playing it.
All while waiting, I wondered if they would include a gig bag or if it would come with anything other than the guitar itself. They included a hard shell case with the Jose Ramirez logo on the front of it - I find that cool. Here are some pics. http://i794.photobucket.com/albums/y...psg7txmogd.jpg http://i794.photobucket.com/albums/y...psib0l0dyq.jpg http://i794.photobucket.com/albums/y...psgrlajiag.jpg http://i794.photobucket.com/albums/y...psyhs03yne.jpg http://i794.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps4i7su6jn.jpg http://i794.photobucket.com/albums/y...psbffwmzi7.jpg What a wonderful 2nd Christmas I had. Thank you Jose Ramirez and Classical Guitar Magazine. Bob |
