Michaud Made Price Raise
 

Hello once again! Unfortunately, this isn't another build thread (not yet at least) but I have just gotten some information from Joel Michaud of Michaud Made Guitars (www.MichaudMade.com) about his impending base price raise from USD$4,500 to USD$6,000 scheduled to start in December 2015 and he will only be taking on very few more build slots before closing his build list at the start of 2016 due to overwhelming demand. The waiting time for a Michaud Made currently stands at 2.5 years.

The price increment is to meet demand, as well as stay more inline with the build quality of his instruments. Joel takes a lot of pride in his instruments and believes that proper and cohesive design is very important, and has never felt right with having to worry about extra costs for intricate rosettes, backstrips, endgrafts and so on as these are in some ways what defines a Michaud Made guitar. These are therefore included in his base price as well. I have included some photos of his latest work below.

Not a surprise. I played the Metal Meets Wood guitar at Woodstock. Beautiful and comfortable. Easy to see why the demand is there. Extremely nice guy too.

Glad I got in when I did, my build should be starting in a few weeks or so. And Marcus, I know you have some idea as to what Joel is thinking! You guys are torturing me!

Very nice. I'm glad I'm no longer GASing or I could be in serious trouble with this.

I really wish I had a chance to play, or even own, that guitar. His personality is definitely one of the highlights for me :)

Hmmm.... well this is awkward. Joel had a few slots left however, he has just informed me that they have been accounted for and his build list is now officially closed! He has not given me an exact date as to when he will reopen but I am guessing within the next year.

As mentioned in the first post, do get in touch with Joel or his dealers if you would like more information :) I shall still post any updates I receive here.

I have a rough idea of some of the upcoming builds in the next 2 years, and I have to say that they are AMAZING. Hopefully some of them belong to forum members who would be posting something :)
