DPA 4099
Tossing around buying a DPA clip on the tailpiece mic for my Campellone, anyone try these??
|
I've used them before and still own one. Live, it's really tough to get loud enough before feedback, in my experience. Check out the Bartlett:
https://www.bartlettaudio.com/collec...hantom-powered 1/3 the cost and more effective for live use. It's my go to if I can use a mic these days. |
Thanks, I check it out

I had a 4099 for a while then sold it. It's so close to the guitar that you only get part of the the sound of the instrument. A Shure SM81 mic on a mic stand 6-12 inches from the guitar reproduces more of the instrument and that sounds better to me.
Also, since the 4099 is a shotgun mic it picks up sound from the rear. If you twist it 180 degrees and point the back at your guitar it sounds almost as loud as when it's facing the "right way." I find that unacceptable because if you have a stage monitor in front of you it's going to feed back. |
