Anyone gig with Fishman Loudbox Mini?

Just wondering if anyone uses a Fishman Loudbox Mini for small gigs (no PA system, just guitar and mic thru Loudbox Mini).

I use it a lot at home. All my guitars are electrified with k&k pure mini, LR baggs Element and the classic one with a Kremona pickup. I love the naturalness of the pure acoustic sound of this amp. I had an Ibanez troubadour before and it has nothing to do with it.

I have used it as my only amp for my acoustic and resonator, but not for vocals as well.
Two acoustic players/two vox - small restaurant type gigs, so not much volume required.
Now we have a small PA for vox and I DI out of back of the fishman to the PA, so it's really just my monitor now.

A few years ago, I was in a group where we used two of them for small indoor gigs. I think we used the mics as well. They were absolutely fine.

A single Mini would be fine for a silent room or a very small venue for which volume wasn’t critical, but when I used one in the past for a Record Store Day appearance I found it soon lost clarity and became compressed/fluffy sounding when approaching performance levels.

I think you would perhaps be better served by the Artist. I found the Artist to be the sweetest sounding of the lot, and certainly provided reasonable output volume. I went through three Performers in the space of six months, all suffered driver or op-amp failure. Not much louder or better than the Artist, and seem to have an inherent design issue.

Personally I would rather pick up a used AER Alpha or Alpha Plus than a new Mini. The build quality and tone of AER kit is on another level entirely…really superb.

This is excactly what I do, using the Mini Charge.
I have done it a lot during the last two summers, connecting guitar and mic. Mostly outside in places where there is not too much noise around.
Also small venues with loud crowds, but I'm not really good at this anyway.

Occasionally I get compliments from musicians telling me how good the system sounds. I know two of them have bought the same thing.

I have did it before and seen several other people doing it around here . The little Fishman always did well. I would play at Ice Houses and to me it was fine.
Today I use an old Carvin AG 200 …Sounds good and was built in the USA .

Haven't gigged with one yet, but when I do, I will most likely use it as a monitor and still have my guitar going through the mains.

Yes I have. Terrific for guitar and vocals. Totally fills a small room.

I have used a Mini several times in small relatively quiet rooms and it worked fine. However I think the Artist is much more versatile and I use it instead of the Mini. The Mini lives in my garage as my workshop amp. It is a great little piece of gear though.

I use it for inside (a quiet restaurant) and outside (restaurant porch, farmers market, small outdoor festivals and it works fine. There is a genuine trade off, weight for performance, so the mini is not always ideal, but the alternative is so much heavier that I use it for the majority of performances where PA’s are not provided. Nobody has ever complained about the sound quality.

Our small coffee-house group uses a Loudbox Artist for guitar and a single mic, and never had any problems. I have a mini, but the Artist seems to have better projection and is more versatile. the mini is very mid-heavy, and is hard to dial that out without really weakening the overall sound. If that makes any sense. At my small home music room, it does fine, but its a pretty small space.

Yes for sure. I did small to medium sized gigs with it for a few years. I only needed to be as loud as my wife's un-amplified cello, but there was plenty of headroom left.

I used one for a while and it’s great for smaller rooms with low background noise.
I sold it and bought an “Artist” which is more versatile and packs more punch.
These days, I’m using a Bose S1 in small to medium-sized rooms because of it’s ability to disperse sound…not so boxy and I can elevate it to ear level with a stand. The S1 is also more flexible as a monitor when we go to the Fishman 330X or our Alto’s.
It’s easier to lug around as well.
