NAD ---Fender Mustang GT40.....

Fender*Mustang GT 40 40W 2x6.5 Guitar Combo Amplifier

why ?? because it has many presets, effects and direct in recording capabilities for a nice quiet recording...will fit perfectly under the Supro....it also has Bluetooth and USB connections and an app that will allow you to custom design your presets....Pretty nice amp for the price....perfect for a home studio like mine....

Cool I picked up a GT100 and the more I play with it the more I like it, I also have a MIIIv2. The speaker really needs to be broken in and I find the stock presets are pretty much rubbish until you tweak them to taste but when you do it sounds awesome. The MIIIv2 was the same way

I have more than a few tube amps but the Mustang is what I gig with and 2 years ago I would have laughed if you told me I'd ever own a modeler. Good times we live in.

I looked at the GT100 but it was too big for the spot I have for it. The GT40 fits there perfectly, plus it's a lot less money. I just got done buying the Supra, and wasn't planning on buying any more amps, but the GT40 has features the other amps I have don't. If it sounds like a toy it's going right back. If it sounds like the demo video's I saw, I'll keep it. I've had pretty good luck with Fender amps though.

I'm interested in your opinion after you had a chance to play around with the GT40 for a bit. I was just eyeing this same model yesterday. I currently own the 20 watt Mustang and like it, but this GT40 looks to have much more to offer.

I just ordered it last night and it hasn't shipped out yet so I don't know when I'll get it.

The other thing I'm concerned about is the footswitch. I believe you have to buy a special model called the GT-4 which is different that the other foot switch Fender makes for it's Mustang series. I don't know what the difference is, but I'd hate to buy the older version and find out it doesn't work with the GT series amps. I don't believe they're available until 5/15 though.

It's the exact same pedal except for labeling and Fender is going to come out with an overlay soon. They have it posted somewhere on their website

The thing about these amps is the more you put into it the more you'll get out of it. It may sound good out of the box but it will even sound better after you dial it in how you want. Speaker cab selection and Sag and bias can make a huge difference in the amp sound but after you get your initial sound set up your good to go and they sound really good plugged in direct. The first thing I do is turn down the treble on the amps there's always too high

Oh and the apps are pretty much beta at this point. I can't even get them to work on Android or ios

I hope you're right !! I just ordered a footswitch from Amazon because I had some reward points there. I ended up getting it for almost half price.

I saw some YouTube videos on the katana that sounds interesting as well.

I'm using the old 4 button and it appears to work fine. The tuner in V2 was much better so hopefully they'll get that figured out

Yamaha Man 05-09-2017 09:44 AM

A tuner would be nice, but I'm more concerned about the looper feature.

The looper is working fine I didn't fully test it but it records and plays back ok

Yamaha Man 05-09-2017 09:54 AM

I believe it's a 60 second looper, don't hold me to that though.

I have the Mustang III v.2----which has morphed into a nice stand for the Boss Katana Head. I plug the Katana into a 12" speaker in an older PRS amplifier.

The tech on these amps is pretty amazing. Luckily the Katana has a .5w setting cause I prefer a 1-5 w. output, unless I'm playing out.
The Mustang sometimes sounds fizzy without a lot of attention to adjustments. I never thought I would enjoy a modeler, but I do.

Well the amp has been shipped, I have a tracking number but no delivery date yet. I'm guessing Thursday or Friday.
