The cat is seemingly out of the bag.

Too bad it’s only on the 3 most expensive models. I’d like to hear it on a 300 series to see if it really works.

It kind of looks like tone bars, it's hard to tell how it will hold up structurally over many years.
But time will tell and I wish them well. Maybe by next NAMM they'll have an inverse V then NAMM after that they'll have a sideways V. Got to keep them buying new items right? |

Maybe a Flying V?

No idea what the effect of the bracing will be, but damm are those some beautiful guitars.

From the article: "The firm says the new V-shaped internal bracing offers greater tuning stability, volume and sustain than its more traditional X-braced models" |

They seem to sound deeper than a standard GA with a cutaway?

Yeah I agree- I don’t quite understand what top bracing has to do with intonation? I thought that was a combination of the nut, neck, frets and saddle. But what do I know, I don’t build guitars. |

That’s a mighty big bridge plate accompanied by a flexible top. Interesting concept. Eventually they will make the bracing so thin that they apply it directly to the top in a sheet. Wait... that’s been done... Yamaha laminate tops. Sorry... couldn’t resist. It looks good.

“Eventually, the bracing style will be applied to more and more models throughout Taylor's robust catalog.” |
