How do I lubricate a truss rod?
Does anyone know how to lubricate a truss rod?

Didn't know you had to.....

Yup - the one on my cheap-o guitar is sticky and almost impossible to budge, and I'm told it should be 'oiled'. Anybody? Anybody?

Frank Ford recommends doing this on all guitars, even if the adjusting nut moves easily. See http://www.frets.com/FRETSPages/Luth...ml#Maintaining

If the truss rod nut is hard to turn, you should lube it. I wouldn't use oil, it could run into the surrounding wood. I've used white lithium grease with excellent results. Just loosen the nut (keep track of the number of turns) and apply a SMALL amount of the grease to the threads on the rod and re-tighten the nut to it's previous position.
