Taylor bridge string spacing

I've read posts that say it's 2 1/4", but I measured a friend's 314ce and it is 2 3/16" on the button from the middle of the bass E to the middle of the treble E at the bridge.

If Taylors proved to be 2 1/4", it would open up another line for GAS! :D

I posted about this a year or more ago, but I mistakenly said I measured my Taylor to be 2-1/4" at the bridge. From further internet research I'm 99.9999% sure the 1-3/4" nut Taylors are 2-3/16" at the bridge. My Martin 00-18V is 2-1/4 at the bridge, and the 1/16" narrower Taylor bridge spacing makes them so much nicer for strumming. I guess I'm going the other way, because if Martin made a few 2-3/16" spaced guitars it would be inducing more Martin GAS in me. Just today I got out my DN3 after a long time in the case, and was thinking about selling it to get a GA3 or GA4...

Thanks, Dave. 2 3/16" probably is a good compromise for a lot of folks. I wish that Taylor had alternatives as Martin does. Then again, I think Martin's alternatives are 2 1/8", 2 1/4", and 2 5/16". I'm not sure if they make a 2 3/16".

I've never seen a 2-3/16 spec'd on Martin's website. A while back I was wondering if they would do this width on a custom order, but never really got serious enough to have a dealer ask.
