I knew he'd been ill but this is still a shock. R.I.P. Mr. Collings your legacy is assured by the incredible craftsmanship of the instruments you designed and built. Condolences to the Collings family.

Collings
This generation's Great American guitar builder
This is incredibly sad. I own more Collings guitars than I know what to do with and Bill's values and philosophies shined through in all of them. He elevated the craft and the business in so many ways. Rest in peace.

Very sad news I love Bill's guitars RIP.
Whoa. Sad to hear of his loss.
Don't know of any other builder who achieved his level of excellence across so many instruments. Flat top guitars, arch top guitars, electric guitars, mandolins, the Waterloo line, even ukes. Tremendous loss.
His guitars were so beautiful. He will be missed but his work will live on for generations yet to come.
