Well,

Stupid, STUPID, ME! I know better than to do what I've done, and I did it anyway, like an idiot.

I left my pre-Peavey, CA Legacy Tribal RT on it's stand, and darn it if I didn't forget that I had left it out.

Night fell, and I walked into the living room in the pitch dark and BANG! I knocked my beauty over!

Oh, geez, I was, AM, freaked. The damage is bad enough that I can't play it. The guitar itself I think, bounced after it fell onto the hardwood floor. Apparently it landed on the G and B tuner buttons, bending the stem of the screw on one (maybe two) of the beautiful, original ebony buttons.

Any suggestions as to where to get replacements? I know Peavey changed the design on the Legacy models somewhat, so I am worried.

I love this guitar and wanted to post this as a warning to others who might find themselves being casually careless. I guess I'll check with MacNichols, Peavey, Ebay, etc.., but I'm not sure if there are detailed specifics to know when ordering new buttons for the guitar, so if anyone can give me some pointers, I'd be grateful.

I'm going to go beat myself with a wet towel now ... thanks for 'listening' ...

I’m sorry Willa. I feel badly for you.

I know how you feel though. I keep mine on a stand in my study during the day. I walked in there a couple of weeks and stepped on one of the stand prongs and the thing took off like a scared crow. As I grabbed it in mid air, the back hit the corner of my desk. Although my damage was mind on only cosmetic, it was a shattering experience. As someone on here said to me then, “At least you did it vs. someone else.”

I hope you can find a way to consider it a battle scar, get her fixed and be just as happy as ever.

Hey could be worse tuners are easily replaceable. Post picture and I am sure we can find out what kind they are. Or going to McNickel is a good idea. Guitar will be good as new. Steve

Should be no problem getting replacement tuning machines or just the parts. CA (Peavey) customer service is excellent. Give them a call and I'm sure they will help you identify the tuning machine manufacturer and model. Had the guitar been made of wood, you would no doubt have much more serious problems or cosmetic damage to deal with! Jon

Sounds like it can be repaired fairly easy. This kind of damage is the reason my guitars are always in the case. If I had a display case I guess I could do that but since I don't they are cased.

Had it been a wood guitar, you'd likely be repairing the neck--so it could be worse!

You should be able to bring it back to new condition without too much hassle.

"Black guitars in the dark"...you might get a song out of this one.

Yep. My Seagull fell over and snapped the head off. (One of the reasons I'm so heavily into CF guitars). Be grateful you have a CF guitar and you only have to replace some hardware.

Ouch - sorry to hear about it. If it is only related to the tuners, you won't have any issues with replacement.

Same thing happened to me with my GX RAW but my carpeting saved the day. Sounds like you just need tuners, these are the Gotoh's CA used, but as long as your are swapping out why not upgrade to these.

Sounds like you're very lucky IF ONLY the 2 TUNERS were damaged . I know 2 friends , one -who's girlfriend jumped into bed , right on the neck of a new Strat , CRACK -le pop.. . The other had an Ovation in the open Hatchback of his small car, as he was sitting on the edge , he slipped inside and CRACK Went the Neck . I have 2 grandkids - sometimes visit - so I put the guitars up high on wall hangars to prevent any 'accidents ' . Only lost one Garrison to a case that wasnt latched . It's a bad feelin when you see your guitar smash onto the floor
