Luthier Boaz Elkayam Visit

Luthier Boaz Elkayam came to visit us from Israel and brought his personal instrument, an Oud inspired design with a fretless bass fingerboard. Amazing sound! http://ow.ly/rXjQ7

Glad to see that Boaz is doing well and looking happy.
Back in 2001 and 2003, Aaron Andrews and I traveled down to Healdsburg from Seattle to attend the Guitar Festival, and as luck would have it, we were invited to stay at Tom Cerletti's house, just down the road from Tom Ribbecke's Healdsburg spread. (Cerletti was Ribbecke's shop foreman at the time.)
Boaz was also staying at Tom's place during the festival on both of those years, and so was Michael Hornick (Shanti Guitars). What a great time that was! Hanging out with these modern legends on Cerletti's outside deck, jamming on guitars late into the night...wow.
Boaz is a formidable character. He emanates a vibe of greatness. When you're in his presence, you can feel the power he has. Not only is he a staggeringly brilliant luthier, he's also a masterful player.
