David Berkowitz 12 String

SOLD! This awesome guitar is no longer available! Thanks!

David Berkowitz, 1998, 12 string made for John Jennings, guitarist and producer for Mary Chapin Carpenter with pickup. This guitar will set you back around $10,000, if new! It has been played, but very respectfully.

The top is high grade Sitka coupled with very high grade East Indian Rosewood. It plays easily and has an incredible amount of sustain. The binding is flamed Koa and the hardware is gold.

New, this guitar would be $10,000 and a very long wait. I am selling this 1998 for $3800.

The case is a Cedar Creek cusom case and all are in excellent condition. Played, but played well. Please email me with any questions.

Sorry to hear about your accident. How long since it happened? If fairly recently, I wouldn't rush out to sell it, if you may get some use of your hands back.

My reasoning is this. I was involved in a severe MVA in 2001 and, owing to severe head injuries and hearing loss including tinnitus, I found it next to impossible to play guitar again. Wind forward 15 years and I have begun to play again, finding that my Brain has re-wired some of the synapses so that, what sounded like mud before, I can now identify as music. I've still got a long way to go, but am beginning to work out what is happening and why.

What a sweetheart...

Sending good thoughts for both of you to heal and get back to making music!

May I suggest short scale, dropped tunings, and the easiest neck possible. My 65 YO hands are small and beat up, too. I have really found dropped tunings to help!

Best on the sale, and more importantly, best on your health!

Cheers

Paul

David Berkowitz brought one of his guitars to an AGF gathering in the Washington area 6 or 7 years ago. I remember that guitar and a TJ Thompson owned by a forum member as standing above all other guitars I have had the opportunity to play or hear. Don't remember seeing another available before. Good luck with the sale and heal fast.

Jeff

Thank you for those kind wishes! It is hard to believe someone would actually run you down as a pedestrian, in a crosswalk!

Now says "sale or trade". So, what kind of trade are you seeking?
Also, what is the string spacing at the bridge and nut please? Thx.

I will be back home this weekend. My father passed away and I cannot recall any stats offhand. Thanks.

Bump, but having second thoughts about selling/trading this beauty... My thanks to the members who have given me second thoughts about this sale. I cannot replace this guitar for my asking price, that is true. Thinking...
