Guild T-50 Newark Series
Has anyone tried one of these? Any impressions?
I am looking real close at one. I am looking for a simple, single pickup guitar. A friend of mine has a Newark Series Guild Aristocrat m-65, that plays great and sounds great. Thanks in advance jricc |

Another bit of "guidance" you may not need, but the Eastman AR371CE has only one pickup. They're quite nice. :)

Thank you for mucking up the waters Mr Scott :D
Seriously though, thnx for the suggestion. Unfortunately, there's no one around here that carries Eastman. |

Well I took the plunge and bought the T-50. Got a great deal on an open box and saved over $200 off the street price.
First off, it is a beautiful looking guitar. Simple controls and nice throaty sounding dog-ear single coil. A P90 of sorts. Second observation, the neck is very comfortable for me, I have small hands and like to use my thumb over the top, and for this it's great. Third observation, the pickup (mounted at the neck) is very sensitive. If I tap on the body near the bridge, or on the bridge I get a thump. Is this unusual? Any thoughts would be appreciated. |
