Gibson J45 or Advanced Jumbo for strumming ?

The J45 has a shorter scale, the AJ has a standard scale.
I'd like to know from Gibson owners which is the best guitar for strumming,
and which, instead, is the most versatile (strumming and finger picking).

Thanks !

I find the AJ is the shizzitz of a strummer

It's my first grab for strumming folk music type tunes at the church sing alongs.

The one area in which my Advanced Jumbo doesn't work as well as I like is for fingerpicking. The WM-45 I previously owned was better for that.

Depends what you're after. If you're using it to play rhythm behind a bluegrass band, the AJ would be a better choice because it has rosewood B&S; will have a little more bass at the expense of some clarity. If you're playing with a rock band, a J-45 with mahogany B&S will have more midrange presence and clarity, better for cutting through a mix. If you're just playing by yourself, then it's really personal preference.
To me, the feel of the long or short scale would be the deciding factor. Buy the guitar that feels better in your hands.

I have an AJ and love it! I strum, so I know it works for that! Never found a J-45 that floated my boat but do really appreciate the AJ. Someone else mentioned DADGAD and it sounds wonderful in that tuning.
