NGD - Taylor 214ce

Went back to the local Music store to compare my Martin GPCRSGT with a GPCPA4 today just for giggles. Thought maybe I would trade up.

The GPCPA4 sounds closer to my DCPA4 (bought last week) than my GPCRSGT. I actually chose the DCPA4 over the GPCPA4.

The GPCRSGT has a very warm tone, it lacks highs, but that is not a bad thing, just different.
The DCPA4 and GPCPA4 have great lows, but also are very bright.

I also wanted to play a few Taylors for fun.
I saw a used Taylor 214ce for $749, for that price I would buy new.
Next to it I say another Taylor for $399, figured it must be a 114ce, but to my surprise it was a 214ce.
This thing played and sounded great.

Long story short, I ended up buying a used Taylor 214ce with a hardshell case for $399. It had a brand new set-up and strings.
I plan on keeping all 3.

Nice score! Taylors are awesome, but I guess you already figured that out.

Congrats on the Taylor! You're amassing some nice guitars Yell.

If your 214ce is in good shape, you got a lot of music power there for relatively little money. Congratulations!

I liked them, but I wanted a Martin 1st. At this price I was not leaving without it.

I keep thinking, I could have one $3000 guitar or the 3 guitars I have, I think I am happier with variety.

It is in great shape, maybe one ding/scuff I saw. I will have to check it over thoroughly later.

I a surprised how much volume comes out of the Taylor, decent low end too.

Wow. I sold a pristine 214CE earlier this year for a lot more than that... Even if you dont like it you will make money flipping it. Wow.

Congrats! Can't go wrong with a nice Taylor 214ce especially for that price!

I will take some pics later and check the year.
