New album: Solo fingerstyle guitar

Voila!

A friend described it as "roots/experimental", which is accurate I think. All tracks are original, apart from the Marc Ribot tune, and everything is acoustic, apart from "Bridge".

: )

Cool man! I like some of those gritty tones you got going on. "That is Correct" has a very hypnotic vibe to it.

Thank you!

That is Correct is played on a 3/4 nylon string that I got at a charity shop in the 90s for 5 dollars : ) I put steel strings on it decades ago and the bridge has rolled forward and the belly has bulged, but the action is remarkably good. Easily the best five dollars that I have ever spent!

Very nice!!! Great sound out of all your guitars.

I'll be picking up your music shortly..

It's so refreshing to not hear a guitar used as a bongo. LOL

Thank you dkstott! We all work so hard on our music, so when people take the time to listen it means the world, no?

I recorded everything the old fashioned way. Every track is a single guitar/take, with no post production or editing. But I did spend a lot of time with mic placements and room choice etc., and then I did not hit record until I was super happy with the sounds as they were. So much music is reamped and "protooled" to death these days, that I guess I just really wanted to capture the performance moments as carefully as possible.

Again, thank you : )

Like it, you get some interesting tones that remind me of old school delta. Very unique and original. :)

Thanks Jambi : )

There is a lot to be said for getting a cool sounding guitar, and just moving a good mic around in front of it until you find the sweet spot, no?

And solo guitar makes this adventure more fun because there is no need to keep any part of the sonic spectrum free for other instruments!
