Yamaha FG-700S Guitar
I'm hearing and reading good things about this guitar on on-line reviews.
Now I would like your opinions as well. Is the guitar worth owning? djh |
You should search it here. Lots of threads, many good things said about the 700 series. I bought one for my kid, and I play it as much as he does. A lot of guitar for 200 bucks.

Great value for money entry level or knockabout guitar. If you are not into buying lots of guitars could be all you need. Worth owning from that perspective IMHO.

In my opinion, it's the best value-for-money beginners guitar out there.

My nephew got a Sandburst one last year and he loves it. So do I, so much so that I'm considering buying one this week from Guitar Center just to have an extra guitar around the house. If you can wait until the 17th they're running them on sale for $149.99! Comes in natural and Sandburst, without a case. The sale runs through the 30th and says limit 1 per customer. Great deal on a great guitar in my opinion!

It's a great guitar for the money, that I often recommend to my students. See my video review here. http://firsttimeguitarbuyer.com/yamaha-fg700s-review/

Yamaha FG-700S Guitar
Just bought one and set it up for my uncle and cousin. A lot of guitar for the money. I was able to get it out the door for right at about $150 by calling GC and just asking nicely.
Really can't go wrong. The only reason why I'd hesitate to buy it is because its a full size dread and the large body might be uncomfortable for some. In that case, the FS700S would be your more appropriate guitar...pretty much the same build, appointments and price...just in their smaller grand concert shape. |
I'm a big fan of Yamaha's $200 - $350 guitars. Highly recommended, you can't go wrong. Excellent guitars that won't bust your life savings.

I'll echo the "get it" comments. I have a couple students with one. Great value.
In addition to the sale someone else mentioned, you can always use the 15% off coupons at Sam Ash, GC, MF, etc. on them and they accept it. |
I agree with everyone here. Really great guitar for so little money. I would personally step up to the FG-730 myself, mainly just cuz I like the jazzier cosmetically, got golly, they're both so good.
Hug Yammie fan here, I confess it. |

With a street price 50% higher, I'm just curious as I've never been able to A/B them. |
