Are Bluerigde guitars any good?
I have been eyeing a Blueridge historic series BR160 for a couple days now in our local shop. It's a used guitar with one previous owner, its a 07 model but was bought new in early 09. Its in mint condition and has a LR Baggs under saddle pickup professionally installed and comes with the hs case. I have played around with it a couple of times and it feels and sounds very good. Im am not familiar with the blueridge at all and this is my first experience with one. I have read up on them and the people who have them say they like them very much. The best price I can get it for is $xxx.xx Cnd out the door. Was hoping that I could get some feed back on whether its a good buy or not. Thanks

If you like the guitar, its all OK. Forum rules prevent discussion of exact prices, so you really won't get feedback on the price you got. Check the archives (and go to the blueridge forum) for lots and lots and lots of discussion of the model you have there.

You can talk prices all you want on the BR forum and/ or PM anyone who answers your present thread for advice about the price.
Here's the UBGF (Blueridge guitar section)........ http://theunofficialblueridgeguitarf....com/forums/63 IMO Blueridge makes some great guitars...... |
Are Blueridge guitars any good? Yes. Yes they are.

Blueridge dreads are good. They come in BR and BG flavors (Martinish and Gibsonish slope shoulderish). I liked the BG better. Martin D-16 only slightly edges out the Blueridge 140/160s.
If you are going for a used one, why not go for an 180? It comes abaloned out and is gorgeous to look at. |
i have played 2008 and 2009 new blueridges, and i liked 'em all. in my own personal taste, blueridges are very nice sounding guitars, and good bang for the buck. why not check online stores for the br-160, add in the price of the electronics, then decide if the price is low enough to make it worth your while. here's a br-160 at one of the less expensive places to buy blueridges (i hear they rock, too)

Yes they are, but they don't fully match the more expensive guitars they are emulating.

Great value for the money!

I just recently picked up a BR-160 and I love it. It has a very deep and complex tone, very much the cannon they are known for. Yeah, have a look over at the Blueridge forum as well.

Blueridge guitars
Hi -- I have owned a Blueridge BR-341 parlor for about six months and I really love it. Great full sound and very well constructed. My only complaint is the nut width (1 and 7/8) is a bit long wide for my small hands. To correct this, I just purchased a very nice used Martin 00-18vs custom 12 fret. The Blueridge is only about 1/3 of the Martin in cost. The Martin is a better guitar clearly, but I foujnd them surprisingly close in terms of tone, projection, etc. IMHO, you get a lot for your money with the Blueridge.

If you like the 160... Try the 180! Very nice guitars.

They are great guitars with a sound and look of their own.

Thanks for your reply's. Sorry I didn't know that I couldn't quote prices. I checked Maurys online but no shipping to Canada. From what I can gather here on pricing I would get the guitar for a little more then half price of a new one with the pickup installed. And as I stated before the guitar is in excellent shape.
