Have you seen this Tele?

"Brad Paisley road worn". I think if I won it, I'd take all the hardware off, sand the body down to bare wood and stain/polycoat it.

I would sell it and buy something else if that's what I needed.

I think this particular tele was already discussed in a thread involving pre worn and relic-ing ... and was thrashed about considerably ! (ha punny) :D

But I agree nothing about the pre worn look appeals to me and the paint job on this tele is also a non-starter for me. I would not buy it as is and if given to me, I would do the same thing.

Road worn...by a belt sander, and only in one spot.

Stupid. But I bet it's a fine guitar.

I like my more refined Tele. (I spent roughly 4 seconds staging for a pic. Could be better)

what is it?
you may want to try uploading your pics at 800 pixels on your width and constrain the proportions. that is a standard that i use when i upload to imgur.

here is a good tutorial from brucebubs a member of the AGF. go to #30

play music!

That Tele doesn't do it for me. The worn off finish on the upper bout is too clean. That said, I'm a big Brad Paisley fan and if I got that guitar I think I'd keep it. I imagine it sounds fantastic.

That ain't no Fender! :D

Now THIS is a Fender!

Notice the 'barely road worn' upper bout - that's from 45 years of actual use (well, a lot of time in the case).

Probably because you posted it in its original size from the camera
You need to resize it either in a photo editing app on your computer or in the photo hosting service you are using

I certainly will raise my photo game.

I love my guitar for what it is - a foreign made Fender that uses a Tele body but doesn’t sound like a typical one. The Seymour Duncans scream and give it more of a Gibson tone. When coil split it has a much more Fendery sound. Especially through the Bassbreaker using the bright switch. Fender has great QC on their foreign stuff.

Sweet guitar. Have you had it 45 years?

Yes, bought it new in 72 for $279 including the Fender hardshell case. Put some GFS pickups in it early this year - the old ones need rewinding.
Put the black pickguard on it a few years ago to replace the original which I have up on my studio wall framed (thanks to my wife), signed by Todd Rundgren!
