Looking for a Luthier
I am looking for a professional to do a good setup on my acoustic. I live in north Georgia and have been given the name of a luthier, Ted Dalack. I came across the name of Ralph Luttrell in some older threads here. Both gentlemen are located within a reasonable drive for me.
A check of the Martin website shows they are both authorized for Martin repair work. Anyone have any experience with Ted Dalack or Ralph Luttrell? Just looking to find someone that I can go to now and in the future. Thanks in advance! |
Any information would be appreciated.

Hi Ridgerunnerdoc,
Wish I could help--other than to suggest you start a new thread with a more specific query--such as Looking for a Luthier North Ga. That way, folks from those parts will chime in. Welcome to the forum. You're in the right place to get all sorts of advice. |
Sorry, I have no direct experience with either one, but Ralph Lutrell has both built guitars for and with, as well as repaired guitars for, a good friend who is an exceptionally good player and who recommends him highly. My impression, having read about him numerous times over the years from a number of different sources, is that he would meet your needs really well. Plus, he seems like a really good guy to know. If i were in the area, he would be someone I would suss out. Hope that helps.

If you don't mind driving into Buckhead, you could check out Maple Street Guitars. Staff seems pretty good and I liked their equipment selection. Can't speak to their repair shop personally but they have some good website reviews.
