NGD! 1977 Larrivee Classical

She needed to be rescued so I bought her and already scheduled surgery for next month. Has a 4" crack visible in the first photo lower left . It experienced some trauma which cracked it, but the kerfing looks good, no separation.

Some of the bracing is loose on the back and will be repaired.

Sounds great now, but I suspect it might be missing a little volume due to the brace issue. Action is really nice.

52mm nut width
650mm scale length

Took delivery from the USPS, drove it up to my luthier's shop to assess. He gave me an estimate and we scheduled the time. I came home and cleaned the frets and fretboard with 0000 wool, and some boiled linsed oil. Wiped the entire guitar down, put on the new strings and I am really liking the warm tone and sustain. Intonation is perfect. It has a "fuller" tone, and is definitely warmer, and more "Spanish" sounding than my C9.

I couldn't be happier with this purchase and look forward to many years of enjoyment out of this beautiful instrument.

Sweet looking guitar!! If it sounds half as good as it looks, it's a keeper.

Congratulations!!

Very nice! I love my 1981 Larrivee L-35! Looks identical to yours except it has the next iteration of the label. It's Victoria-built.

What is the serial number on your 1981?
