Lowden S35 Adirondack/Koa SOLD

For Sale: Lowden S35 Adirondack/Koa SOLD

For a long time I limited myself to three guitars at a time. Currently I’m at five, and need to make some room (metaphorically, physically and financially…!).

This S35 was built on 12/12/12 for the 2013 NAMM show. The wood selection is stunning and the build quality exemplifies the great craftsmanship of all Lowdens. Perhaps more importantly, this guitar has the resonance, sustain, and complexity that have made Lowdens so sought after.

This is a special guitar with no scratches, dings, or issues. I hesitate to say perfect, but it's as nice as most new ones I've played. Meticulously cared for. Comes with a Hiscox case.

You probably know that the Lowden S body has unusually full tone and projection for a small guitar. The Adirondack top adds clarity, responsiveness, and the ability to “dig in” a bit more than other woods. The Koa back and sides adds sweetness, focus and very mild overtones. This S has beautiful appointments of maple and ebony, and Gotoh 510 tuners.

Particulars: 14-¾” lower bought, 10-3/8” upper bought, 4-1/4” depth at tail, and an 18-7/8” long body. Low string tension due to a 630 mm (24.9) scale length. 1-¾” nut width, Lowden low-profile neck. Very light, fast, and comfortable to play.

Shipping (and any paypal fees) will be buyer’s expense. Specific terms of sale to be negotiated. In the way of references, I’ve sold several guitars over the years on eBay under BethMikeandLeah. Also, I purchased this particular guitar from Steve (SJGTime) whom some of you will recognize as an oft-consulted Lowden expert…

Please send me any questions or offers by private message, or feel free to call me in Denver at 303-525-7153. Interested buyers are encouraged to play it in person!

Thanks for looking – Mike

Thanks, Paul. I'm getting offers to trade, but still preferring cash...

Great guitar!

This is an EXCELLENT small guitar. Koa and Adi is a superb combo in this size.

I loved everything about this guitar and actually offered Mike to buy it back. True story

But by the time he'd seen my message and replied, I'd already bought another Lowden. One I'd hoped to get before but nothing doing and all of a sudden boom.

Timing is a heck-of-a thing.

Anyway, this is a very cool guitar with looks, tone, and play-ability to boot. It has an awesome neck.

The S's can be tricky and my favorites before this guitar were Cocobolo/Sitka, Pear/Redwood and Indian/Cedar. Koa/Adi is added to my list :)

Thanks for the endorsement, Steve. I've had multiple offers to trade, and one cash offer, but hoping to get a bit closer to asking price. Anyone with questions should send me a message soon. Thanks!

I think its just a holidays thing. You've got it priced correctly.

sjgtime 01-02-2016 07:24 PM

Although...I bought a guitar over the holidays, er, just prior on the cusp...

It has been great to talk guitars with several of you as a result of my ad. Just a small price drop, today, to see if there is additional interest...

Phantom 02-01-2016 11:24 PM

Ok, this one is on its way to its new owner. More difficult to part with than I imagined!
