My first carbon fiber guitar - and a very special gift - arrived today:

The pictures don't do this guitar justice, it's much more gorgeous in person.

I just saw the sunburst parlor in person and I agree! pictures don't do it. Awesome in person. Congrates.

Congrats! Looks great - how does she sound?

I held my breath when I opened the case on my Rainsong Shorty when it first arrived... beautiful, articulate sound.

Tell us about that first strum. :)

Best wishes,
Captain Jim

Captain Jim,

The guitar sounds great! The first strum was very rumbly. :D

Beautiful guitar!! Is that the all-carbon version of the Shorty? I love how the rosette looks against that finish.

Yep. Replace the hybrid back and sides of the Shorty with graphite and this is what you get. :)

Congrats, Jeremy. I've been lurking at those myself.

Birthday gift?

Even better... ;)

Looking forward to hearing your next recordings.

Yesterday I had an extended jam session with a friend (who owns a Martin 000-28 that I've been coveting for a long time) and after playing and listening to him play my RainSong, let's just say I don't want his Martin as much anymore. :)

And as an aside, RainSong's customer service has been great to me.

Sounds like a great gift Jeremy. Do you think you'll ever play this guitar in elements that you wouldn't take your solid wood acoustic?

... and Congrats! It sounds like an unexpected surprise.

Thanks, Dru. Definitely a great and unexpected gift!

I think for the most part I'm going to treat it as I would a wooden guitar, except that I won't have to sweat the humidification aspect.

Beautiful guitar! I've been considering a Rainsong for awhile now. What are the electronics and how is the plugged in sound?
