Spohn guitars - two guitars on their way

Hey guys!

I haven't shared my work for quite a while so I thought you might be interested in some updates.

I opened up a new shop in my hometown in October and started two new build.
Here is a picture of my shop. It is small but it works pretty good.

The first guitar I started is my 00 model.
The top is made of german spruce, back and sides are Honduran mahogany.

And the second guitar is my new Mod-D model out of Swiss moonspruce and some awesome Madagascar rosewood.

What's the black material lining the sides of the Mod-d?

Very nice and clean. Liking that 00

Great photos! That is a very tight waist on the 00. Is that an aesthetic decision or a tonal one? Or both?

Thanks for sharing. We love build threads here!

Thank you Marcus! Unfortunately I have no picture of the inside of the back with some shellac on it. So we have to wait until the finish is on to see its actual color ;)

It is black dyed maple. It keeps my rim lighter in weight than ebony and is still black.

Thank you Juston! Honestly it was an aesthetic decision first but I built a few instruments now with a very tight waist and tonally it works great too.
