I'm pretty happy with the Wix website

(Disclaimer: I am not an employee of Wix. I'm simply a user.)

After years of trying to find a cheap way to do a decent-looking website, our band bit the bullet, and we are doing a paid site. While it's not the fanciest or flashiest, I'll have to say that I'm pretty pleased with the ease of use. We are doing the $10 a month plan, and all you need to do is know how to type and upload a file. I think my wife put together the basics of our website in an afternoon.

Yes, this is a shameless plug for my website. However, at the same time it's hopefully helpful advice to you as an independent artist. I've asked multiple times on this forum about "how to do a website." I think I've found my answer for now.

Anyone else on here use Wix? Are you happy with it?

Think you have done well.

I write web code for a living and find keeping up with my own website isn't something I feel like doing in my off hours after spending my working day twisting digits.

I've never actually used Wix but have helped a number of folks with their use of it.

There is a solid niche for their service and they tend to deliver. Sounds like you got a winner there!

Looks great (and I enjoyed your music as well)!

Like you, I've been looking for something that wouldn't require a full time programmer. I'm definitely going to check out Wix. Thanks for the recommendation.

Cheers,
Mark

Thanks Kip! I've spent years trying to find something that work, and this does. :)

So far, so good Mark! I teach at a local college, and we have students build a website to help build a "positive online presence." They rarely have trouble with it. You can always set up a free account and play around with it. Whenever you want to set up a domain, you wait and pay then. It's working for us!

I recently opted for a Word Press based website and am developing it now with hopes to launch it Jan 1 ( because that's so clean for accounting purposes).

With some guidance from a buddy with experience, I have a nice little setup that is pretty user friendly.

WP has a lot to offer in more ways than I had initially realized. While it made its way into view as a blogging platform, it is open source and that has allowed lots of very cools development to take place.

Wix is getting nice reviews as the OP says; I know a few folks who are very pleased.

It's so nice when things work!
