New sponsor - N K Forster Guitars

Greetings all, I've decided to become a forum sponsor. So, for those who already know me - hello!

To those who don't, my name is Nigel Forster, I'm an English luthier, currently living in Leipzig, Germany. http://www.nkforsterguitars.com/

I spent 1988-1990, then 1992 - 2003 working for Stefan Sobell near Hexham my home town. In 2004 I opened my own workshop. In late 2015 we moved to Leipzig, Germany.

Here is a selection of my work. As you'll see it covers instruments with 4, 6 and 8 strings. Instruments with 10 and 12 strings are not unknown.

Any questions, ask away.

Best,

Nigel

Beautiful work, Nigel - thank you for becoming a sponsor. I hope you post some build photos soon so we can watch the process! I'm curious about that last photo - the four stringed instrument - is that a tenor guitar?

Welcome Nigel! Visually, your instruments look outstanding!! Are there any youtube videos or sound files of your instruments in action?

Welcome to the AGF, Nigel.

Your instruments are certainly beautiful--the mandos are especially tasty!

Thanks for sharing--I look forward to seeing your future builds here!

Yes, I make a lot of them these days.

There are loads of woodwork videos on the channel too. Plenty to keep you occupied for a while.

Hey Nigel, you have to only put the part in of the YouTube URL after the "v=", so...

Very nice. I love the look of that tenor guitar in the last pic from head to toe. I'm just about to get into tenor guitar having never owned one before.

Well, this year I'm making a lot of them. Mainly the simple cedrela top version.

The great thing about tenor guitars is you don't make a better one by making a really fancy one.
