Cover your eyes;

Mr. Paul 03-09-2018 05:05 AM

No thanks.

But, these guitars are made for the one buyer who likes it, not the millions who don't.

That's nothing, how about a "Techno Pink" Hummingbird:

I wouldn't mind a green instrument but would want very dark green top and translucent green over maple for the back. Add some gold hardware and it might look pretty good

ANYway, your comments reminded me of one of those Gibson one-offs they had hanging on the wall at the store. It was like a BB King model, a 335 without f holes, in a gorgeous hunter green finish. It sounded great and played wonderfully, as well.

I played Irish music on it. It seemed appropriate...

Nowadays I’d haggle on the price a little bit, but would end up buying it and taking it home. But back then it was one of those wistful partings, never meant to be.

I’ve never forgotten it, though, obviously. You’d have to wrassle me for it, HHP, and I guess that THEN we’d find out who’s meanest and fastest...

Hey Wade and Harry ! Don’t fight ! Simply get one of these each . Proper Celtic green and gold guitars that don’t mind the weather. :)

Better hurry , only three left now.

So the strategy used to sell the electrics (build a bunch of Les Pauls in a variety of lurid colours) is now being applied to acoustics.

Where did Henry get his MBA from?

Is that the new Kermit the frog signature. Shame because under the colour it's a fine guitar

I would buy the pink bird in a minute if I had the money.

I know it's really subjective, but a lot of the custom OOO and below guitars I see going for $5,000+ on the classifieds (with cutaways and long descriptions of the obscure tonewoods in the ad) are much uglier to me.

For a very long time in American auto racing, green was considered a very bad luck color. People would still comment on it at the Speedway fairly recently. When Kenny Bernstein brought a team sponsored by Quaker State oil, the consensus was that they were doomed. Won the pole one year and the driver spun on the parade lap and hit the wall, didn't even take the start.

Well, don't know about the guitar, but the thread title did remind me to add "Neon Moon" back on to our set list for some of the venues we're playing.

This is my son-in-laws favorite color. If he purchased this guitar I would use it to beat him to death.

Gibson is really grasping for straws now.

Yeah, hard to believe they're dumb enough to actually offer choices to their customers.

Just as soon as I get a sharp stick to poke my mind's eye, I'll forget all about that image...

mattwood 03-09-2018 12:17 PM

Even uglier than technopink:sick:

Steadfastly 03-09-2018 12:49 PM

It's not puke green, but that's how it makes me feel when I look at it.

The colour makes a very good guitar look like a cheap Rogue.
