The Lake Houston Marina covered patio is now reserved for June 2nd.

Lets go ahead and start getting a count of how many people will be attending and if you guys would like to have the same menu.

Crawfish, Corn, Potatoes, and BBQ Chicken

Let me know if you want any equipment set up to use or just an amp and maybe a small PA Sys.

God willing...I'll be there!
My suggestion is that we should have some kind of P.A. where the singers can be heard, and guitar players who want to play lead should have some kind of amplification. I'll be happy bring my bass rig, and just play bass guitar.
Maybe have a warm-up "band" open for the "jam"...I'm thinking: phuume and Don Bob.
After 2 years in a row, the food menu still looks good to me. It's been successful, I don't think we need to change it. But I do think I'm asking too much by suggesting that some of the "jammers" can bring some kind of side dish, cola/drinks, or dinner ware.

Thanks again Guitarman! We sure do appreciate the Lake Houston Jams!!

Okie dokie its on the calendar!! And phuufme and DonBob, would be proud to open the jam!

I agree with Frances -- we all need to pitch in to Guitarman with food (and some $$ if he needs it). So we need two lists, hmm maybe three lists.

1. Say if you are coming and how many
2. Say what food you will bring
3. Say what amplification equipment you will bring.

Sound like a plan?

I'm DonBob and I approve phuufme's message.

I don't know how long an "opening act" you want, but we only know about 100 songs or so. :)

We are so looking forward to seeing you guys again, and thanks, Guitarman, for making it all possib.e

I'll need to check with my better half, but 06-02-07 sounds good.
We'll gladly bring sodas again (plenty of Fresca Black Cherry this time :D), & a veggie tray.
We still have the name tags & pens from last time.
Amps available--Marshall AS50R & Crate CA15 (the A&E bass sounds good thru the CA15).

And we'll need lessons on the best way to shell crawdads!

Well, that depends. Do you want quality (Mo playing) over quantity (me butchering the cowbell)?

Seriously, send us the songbooks (there were at least 3 at the 05-05-06 jam), & I'll try to act like I know what I'm doing (emphasis on the act like....).

Shirley and I will most likely be there.

I'll have to check with her as to what we can bring.

For "amplification equipment" I could bring a Fender 112 and/or an old Airline tube amp.

DonBob sent me the "Face In The Dirt" Band Book and the FITD Country Book, as Word files, last year.

Jeffrey -- is there a way to put the song books in one place here on the site and then have people download them. That way we won't be emailing it several times.

Sure, email it to me at "scrubby at gmail dot com" (if it's over 5mb, if not send it to my regular address you usually use).

I'll host it and post up a link here.

I'll plan on being there June 2nd. I'll try to think of something food-wise to bring.

Shirley and I volunteer to bring the corn (at least some of the corn, if the turnout is huge).

I was hinting that we could bring a dessert, but she said dessert is easier for the guys to bring, so we'd bring something "healthier".

I can bring some sodas and water, along with some cash for the kitty to help cover the cost of the food.

I don't have any amps, but would appreciate a copy of the song book once it's available online.

First post updated with songbook info. Thanks Jeffrey. I just sent you one more songbook from the San Antonio TGF (yep that's right) gathering a few years ago.

So, that should make all 3 of the song books.

Alrightys, wes nows hass thes twos songs bookss.

I'm posting this in case anyone else doesn't have MS Word &/or Zip softare (the rest of you can read it & laugh at me ):
I rediscovered that my version of MS Office was only a trial offer, hence no MS Word. I had to download free zip software (7zip, I believe), which worked, but then I found that MS Works word processor won't recognize the file. But WordPad does (how strange is that?).

  Sorry guys, but I've got tickets for Sigrid and me at the festival that weekend so we'll be out of town. Judy Collins is headlining Sat. night and I didn't want to miss that. We'll be camping at Camp Stupid and staying up all hours around the campfire, singing and listening. I'll think of you all Sat. afternoon when I'm floating in one of the creeks, trying to keep cool! I'm sorry you won't get to hear our new Labrador song, which should be done by then. It's actually pretty funny.

Fellas,
I'm awfully sorry, but a gig suddenly came up Friday AND Saturday evening.

Y'all have a good time. I'm going to miss y'all!

Y'all have a good time. I'm going to miss y'all!Man they're dropping like flies. However, DonBob and I will surely be there, with some dessert in hand (or in a box)>

BTW, my wife and daughter might also be there to sing, and eat, of course.

Who has all of the shakers and the like for our jam sessions?

At least two people brought some misc. percussion whatnots. For certain one of them was Lrgo, Kego's wife, & they're hoping to attend. I'm thinking that it was Joe's wife (my apologies, I'm horrible with names) also brought some. I'm still looking for a cowbell and a tophat.

Are there going to be any bass players attending? We can bring the Alvarez a/e bass, which sounds pretty good through the Crate CA15.
