Thanks for taking and sharing pics, George. Makes me regret not being able to make the trip even more!
Couldn't find anything online for Jaffrey's guitars - love the coco on that OM. Let me know if you have any contact info.
Thanks,
Austin

You're welcome, Austin. Jaffrey is John's "Cakes" friend. He could probably give you his contact info.

George,
I believe the picture for which you requested a caption is a picture of Chris (Martin EC1. )
The old Gibson pictured above belonged to my grandmother. It's a 40's era guitar and I know very little about it in terms of woods, model, etc. It's a nice old guitar and it's still playable, in spite of the headstock snapping off once due to yours truly's clumsiness.
Regarding Jaffrey guitars, his full name is Kent Jaffrey. He has built about 10 guitars so far. He doesn't have an online presence. I'll get a number for you.

Wow, register my vote for Eric's beautiful Michelangelo fretboard and Kent's Coco back. Now there is a combination that could well make the most beautiful guitar never made!
Soon to be available for purchase, the guitar not the player! ;)

haha, this is such a great picture of the guitar, definitely not of me. Heather calls this "the face"... I have a bad tendency to make that lippy look when I am playing guitar. What I wouldn't give to be able to buy that guitar though! So grateful to Tim that I was able to play with it.

Yeah, I really liked Jim's Juber. Other than my own guitar, I think it was my favorite one there-- even though, according to Jim, it needed a set up. I agree about the Juber's being gorgeous in its simplicity-- that captures its essence well.
Oh, and thanks to Cakes and the rest of you-- I really enjoyed meeting all of you. Tad's "Mountains of Things" and "Rhonda's Last Ride" (ooof) were the musical (listening) highlights for me, but I also really enjoyed Jim's (t'other one's) pulling out so many favorite songs from JT and others, with which I could almost play along. Sort of. Okay, so I mostly hummed. :-)
Cheers,
- Sarah S.

Here's another profile shot of TimB's soon to be for sale 12 String PS Taylor as played by Jeremy

Here I'm playing Juber's "Liquid Amber" using one of Tad's Goodalls...such an amazing guitar for fingerpicking!
http://i10.tinypic.com/2zsvcdv.jpg
The previous owner, as told by Jim, left this guitar on a stand one winter night and forgot to shut the veranda sliding door which was slightly open...hence the cold checking..
http://i11.tinypic.com/2s00gb6.jpg
Tad with his other Goodall... I first thought it was a Martin HD28 because it looks like it and it also had a herringbone top trim but when I played it, I said its gotta be more than a HD28!

Sarah and George (and all): thanks for the compliments on the Juber! You really made it sing when you played it! I do love it's simplicity. It is now at the luthiers for a neck adjustment (I found it harder to barre than my others guitars) and to repair that one blemish where someone took a pick to it (before I owned it). I'll bring it to the next one just for Steve Z!
I'm just sorry I had to leave so soon - I had an evenng engagement in Alexandria and didn't realize I was double-booking till I was past cancelling the other. I missed Eric and many others and most of the playing. Next time! If I do move to NC it won't be till at least July - so there's time! My place is available if all are amenable to coming back to NoVA (I live about 35 miles north of Cakes, in Loudoun county).
And...I WILL play at the next one too.
Can we set a date?

Ditto here. I live in Fairfax County, right near Loudoun so I could host as well. I was thinking about a fall bash, maybe Sept.

Let me know far enough in advance so I can come on a visit to my sis near McLean--my Sept. is filling up quickly, between the Fox Valley Folk Fest Labor Day weekend, the High Holy Days, and FARM (Folk Alliance Midwest) at the end of the month! The first two full weekends (8-9 and 15-16) might work, though I will probably be expected to do my part on mailings and graphics for FARM that latter weekend. Most of Aug. is wide open, though.
Won't be able to come to Monroestock, either--that's the only weekend we could get Falling Rock Cafe in Munising, MI (one of our strongest fanbases), and by then it'll have been nearly a year between gigs there.
