I am interested. Last year I went with Jeff and it was my first time. I had some bad luck though cause my bridge pin snapped right before it. It was still a good time...everyone was very generous and let me play their wonderful Taylors.:D

ROAD TRIP!!!!
Good times last year; great food; great company; good to put faces to names.
Thought there was waaaaay too much food, but then there was this slim young gal that destroyed a good percentage of it!
Say when, and we'll make it!

Hey, no one's heard back from Guitarman yet? Who talked to him last? Can we tell when he last posted?
I'll be happy to help as well as show up with my guitars and my girlfriend. We're on the other side of Houston, which isn't quite half way to San Antonio, but that's still closer than most. I agree with Jeffrey, we need to do it before it gets too hot and muggy here. Middle of May at the latest.

Sorry guys!!
I have been very busy with My A/C Business and some legal issuses with a boy we had addopted.
If you would like to do the Lake Houston Get Togather, Then lets pick a date and I will get things rolling. It should not be a problem getting the Marina reserved.

April 14 we have a gig; April 21 is a possibility; April 28 we have a previous commitment; May 5 I am in Oakland, CA; May 12 we have a gig; May 19 I am doing a charity bike ride San Antonio to Austin; May 26 is Memorial Day weekend. So for me, I am really not available until June (when its already hot), unless its possible to pull it together for April 21. Ouch.

Steve & Don can't miss any jams, it would cause too much t-shirt confussion.
Joe, it sounds as though you have a lot on your plate (lame reference to thread title). If this isn't workable for you, I don't want to add any more stress to your life.

I'm free starting May!
C'mon guys, we're "Texans"! We can take a little "heat", can't we? But let's take our time to plan this...hopefully bring more people than before!
Just a thought: I'm thinking we should have a P.A. for the "designated" singers, and guitar amps for the "lead guitarists". I could barely hear the singers and the leads the past 2 years...but then, I always excuse it to my deafness!

You may just have to miss this one, Steve. :DYeah, yeah, I know. Someday I'll miss one. They are just so much fun. If people would agree to come to San Antonio, I'd love to host one here (or at your house, Jeffrey:D ). However, Dallas or Houston seem to draw a much bigger crowd due to locals who come.
So, pick a date, Joe, that works for you. If Don and I can work it out, we'll be there. If not, so it goes.

Franchel, we bought an acoustic amp to the previous Lake Houston Jam, but nobody used it . We can bring two, if need be.

Chris,
I know what you mean! Joe had a PA set-up 2 years ago, and it was never used.
I'm just thinking that web can some sort sort of "program"...where we can have some sort of order the songs to play, who'll be singing, and who'll be playing solos. I mean, I wouldn't mind playing bass, backing up Steve on vocals, and maybe Jeffrey on lead solo, while others are singing/playing "acoustically" in the background.

When we are using the equipment, the idea would be to not have other players playing.
Although I'd love to do an "open mike" style thingy, I must say that sitting around and jamming is mucho fun.
So, maybe we can do a little of both. I wouldn't mind (if I can make this one) being the sign up sheet "pusher" for the open mike segment.

The only date I can't make is May 19th and Memorial Day weekend. There's also a weekend in June, but I don't have the dates handy.
I'm going to try to make this one - no, really, I am.

Our schedule for April is already almost booked up with field trips, wedding receptions and gem shows. May looks better, but my girlfriend is trying to plan a trip to Japan for 10 days sometime in May, so I don't know.....
I would vote for the first weekend of May right now.
If people are really interested in hearing the lead singer over all the guitars, I have a Fender Passport150 PA with speaker stands that could handle three inputs quite nicely, and two mike stands and several mikes. That way the lead singer wouldn't be shouting/singing and would have a voice left at the end of the day.:D

The only bad day for me would be May 5th. I will have to be in Austin for a meeting. Any time after the 5th would work.
Have any of you been keeping up with the things taking place at TYC. My wife and I adopted a boy about 6 years ago and he got into a little trouble and was sent to TYC. The things showing up in the news is only the start of what all is being investigated. Vickie and I have been talking to Senators, The new appointed Czar of TYC and Attorneys. My boy, should be home in about 30 days or less. However I am not going to stop there. I will be demanding that Laws be changed so that this can not happen again to children in the state of Texas.
Some of these kids are between the ages of 10 and 14 and go up to 21 years of age. If any of you want to talk about this matter and how easy it is to happen to your child, feel free to call me.
Anyway! If you guys want to pick a date out side of the 5Th of May, I will set it up. I am also hoping that my son will be able to attend.
